1. Where can I purchase a camera?
- A camera store is a good place to find a camera that fits the best. You can ask the staff questions and receive advice.
- Online retailers provide good deals on cameras and the largest selection. One drawback is that you will not receive knowledgeable advice and will not be able to get a feel for the camera until it is delivered to you.
- Classified ads are a good way to find a good used camera at the fraction of the cost of a new camera. The downside to classified ads and second-hand cameras is that you will not know what internal abuse the camera has possibly taken.
2. What causes "red eye" and how do I prevent it?
- Red-eye from your subject is created by light hitting the subject's retina in their eyes. Luckily, some of today's cameras are equipped with automatic red-eye reduction. If your camera does not have this feature, try to reduce the direct impact of the flash on the subject's eyes.
- You can upload the images by directly connecting your camera to your computer via a usb cable or you can upload the images by inserting the memory card into your computer or memory card reading device.
- If you are using a recent MAC computer, then it should be equipped with iPhoto. If it is not you can download iPhoto from the App Store.
- If you are using a PC that does not currently have photo editing software, then you can try Adobe's Photoshop or Fotor.
- I would say that the best times are from sun up to sun down. The changes in the lighting throughout the day can have dramatic affects on your photos. Nighttime photos can be difficult to work with and need a different approach to create nice looking photographs.
